We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability/DevOps Engineer to join our client, a successful yet low-profile crypto hedge fund and proprietary trading firm. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure that supports their trading operations. This role requires expertise in AWS architecture, database administration, and system monitoring to ensure the platform runs smoothly 24/7.
Responsibilities
• Architecture: Architect and implement AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles, particularly with Terraform.
• Database Design: Design and maintain high-performance database systems.
• Monitoring: Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize system performance and reduce latency.
• Disaster Recovery: Manage backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Security Management: Handle security configurations and access management.
• Support: Provide on-call support for critical infrastructure.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with teams to understand and support their infrastructure needs, utilizing Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Requirements
Must Have:
• AWS Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, EKS, VPC, IAM).
• Automation: Strong experience in infrastructure automation using Terraform.
• Containerization: Experience with Kubernetes and containerization (Docker).
• Basic Programming: Familiarity with basic Python for scripting and automation tasks.
• Monitoring Tools: Expertise in monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent).
• Networking Knowledge: Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Incident Handling: Experience handling production incidents and on-call responsibilities.
• Scripting Skills: Strong scripting skills (Bash, Shell script).
Nice to Have:
• Industry Experience: Experience in Crypto or trading environments.
• Certifications: AWS Professional certifications.
• Blockchain Knowledge: Knowledge of blockchain technologies and exchange APIs.
• High-Frequency Trading: Experience with high-frequency trading infrastructure.
• Performance Tuning: Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• CI/CD Knowledge: Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
• Infrastructure Management: Multi-region infrastructure management experience.
