We are instructed on an excellent opportunity for a senior employment lawyer to join a leading global buy-side firm as APAC Head of Employment, based in Hong Kong.
Our client is a well-known global proprietary trading firm that is looking to strengthen its legal function. This role will have responsibility for employment law matters across the APAC region, including Hong Kong and Australia, advising on a broad range of issues such as hiring, restrictive covenants, employee relations, performance management, and terminations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring legal and regulatory developments across the region, providing strategic advice to the business, and managing relationships with senior stakeholders. The role also includes leadership responsibility for a team of employment lawyers.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ PQE, with training at a reputable law firm and experience advising financial services clients
- Strong employment law experience in both Hong Kong and Australia is essential
- Prior in-house and/or financial services experience is preferred, but not essential
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of employment lawyers
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
