Their edge comes from their research platform and execution systems, deploying a high-performance stack including modern C++, React/Node, C# .NET, Python, KDB+, FPGA, and cloud-native technologies.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive APAC Senior Technology Buyer to join the Procurement team in Hong Kong. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing technology suppliers providing products across office and datacenter colocations. This role focuses on delivery performance, cost optimisation, and resilience of critical technology solutions, while ensuring alignment with business, IT, and network strategies. The Procurement team is located in London and Hong Kong, and they have been laying the foundations for a high-performance and trusted procurement function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end APAC sourcing initiatives, including supplier negotiations and contract awards.
  • Category Management: Execute sourcing strategies for all Technology categories, including Hardware, Software, Services, and Telecommunications.
  • DataCenter Hardware: Source and deliver Technology DataCenter Hardware across multiple APAC countries, including India.
  • Supply Chain: Optimise supply chains and delivery lead times to improve speed to market.
  • Market Intelligence: Track market trends and availability to inform Technology and procurement decisions.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships with key suppliers (e.g., Hardware OEMs) and negotiate complex contracts including pricing, SLAs, service credits, and termination clauses.
  • Contract Lifecycle: Oversee contract lifecycle management, including renewals, benchmarking, and renegotiations.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Third-Party Risk: Manage data privacy, cybersecurity, and operational resilience considerations.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive process improvements and standardisation across procurement activities, leveraging tools and analytics to enhance decision-making.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: 2–7 years in Technology procurement within a medium or large-sized, fast-paced and agile business—ideally within financial services.
  • Category Expertise: Strong experience in Technology procurement categories.
  • Hardware Negotiation: Proven track record in hardware supply negotiation and supply chain management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with technical stakeholders and understand infrastructure requirements.
  • Regional Experience: Experience working in APAC multi-country or global environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Nice to Have: Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are advantageous.
  • Metrics: Demonstrated cost savings and value delivery against targets; supplier performance and risk management outcomes; stakeholder satisfaction and engagement.
