Our client, a premier league Quantitative trading firm, is seeking dedicated Linux Engineers to work with the foundational infrastructure supporting their technology, across various locations with full relocation packages provided. This role involves Systems Engineering, Administration, and Programming, focusing on maintaining and enhancing the platform that underpins our production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Debugging: Debugging kernel performance.
  • Development: Developing management tools.
  • Production Support: Addressing production issues in real-time.
  • Automation: Engaging in deployment automation and scalable configuration management.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with multiple departments to build and maintain systems.

Requirements

  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to analyze and break down technical problems effectively.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required.
  • OS Knowledge: In-depth understanding of operating system fundamentals, particularly Linux.
  • Command Line Proficiency: Proficient with the Unix command line and shell scripting.
  • Technical Experience: Practical experience with modern Linux systems and concepts such as C, sockets, virtual memory, and the process life cycle.
  • Networking Knowledge: Basic knowledge of network protocols.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills, familiar with profiling/debugging tools like gdb, perf, DTrace, or SystemTap.
  • Programming Experience: Programming experience in python or other programming language.
