Network Infrastructure Strategist (Procurement and Planning)

We are partnering with a premier quantitative trading firm to identify a Network Infrastructure Strategist to lead the planning, procurement, and optimization of their mission-critical network infrastructure. This is a high-impact role for someone who excels at strategic vendor negotiations, capacity planning, and global connectivity solutions—ensuring seamless, high-performance operations across Asia and beyond.

The Role

You will be the driving force behind the firm’s network infrastructure strategy, working at the intersection of business, technology, and global service providers. Key focus areas include:
• Vendor & Partnership Strategy: Source, evaluate, and negotiate with global connectivity providers to secure optimal performance, cost, and reliability.
• Infrastructure Scaling: Forecast demand and secure capacity for high-speed, low-latency networks to support real-time trading systems.
• Performance & Compliance: Oversee SLAs, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure providers meet stringent uptime and latency requirements.
• Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of emerging trends in global connectivity, from new fiber routes to innovative routing solutions.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Align with trading, engineering, and operations teams to translate business needs into infrastructure solutions.

This is a commercially focused role—no hands-on engineering work required, though a network engineering background is extremely helpful. Instead, you’ll leverage your industry expertise, negotiation skills, and relationships to build a best-in-class global network.

Who You Are

• Proven experience in network infrastructure procurement, vendor management, or connectivity strategy, ideally within high frequency trading, tech, or high-performance computing.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a history of securing favorable terms with global service providers.
• Deep understanding of low-latency networks, bandwidth planning, and market dynamics in Asia and globally.
• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
• Fluent in English and Cantonese (Mandarin a plus), with exceptional communication skills.
• Strategic mindset—you can balance immediate business needs with long-term infrastructure roadmaps.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the backbone of a top-tier trading firm’s global operations. If you thrive in fast-moving environments and want to impact high-stakes infrastructure decisions, we’d welcome a confidential discussion. Please contact: Bianca.Lo@ashford-benjamin.com
