Want to build the next generation of language-learning products?
My client is a fast-growing, revenue-generating EdTech company transforming language education through gamified learning and AI-powered personalisation. They’re hiring Software Engineers across multiple openings, with at least 3 years of experience, to build and improve their web and mobile products.
You’ll work across the full stack, with room to bring deeper expertise in backend, frontend, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). Their stack includes React, React Native, TypeScript and Node.js.
The team values a product engineering mindset: understanding user needs, making practical technical decisions, and taking ownership of what you ship. Engineers test their own code and follow a “you build it, you run it” approach, with no separate QA team.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain features across web and mobile language-learning products.
- Work closely with product, design, and education teams to turn ideas into reliable, user-friendly software.
- Contribute your expertise in backend, frontend or SRE while working across the wider stack.
- Own your work through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews and engineering improvements.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and explore AI integrations to improve products and delivery.
- Collaborate in a Scrum team, balancing speed with quality.
What you’ll bring
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in backend development, frontend development, or SRE, with the flexibility to work across the stack.
- Hands-on experience with relevant technologies such as React, React Native, TypeScript or Node.js.
- A commitment to testing your own code, maintaining code quality, and owning what you build.
- A product-focused mindset: you care about how your work solves user problems, not just whether it meets a specification.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to move quickly as priorities evolve.
- Mandarin-speaking ability is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with test-driven or behaviour-driven development (TDD/BDD).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, production reliability, or mobile development.
- Experience building AI-enabled features or using tools and models from OpenAI, Chinese model providers or OpenRouter.
- Experience in EdTech or a fast-moving startup.
