My client is a global investment bank with a dedicated technology function supporting market-leading capabilities across trading and operations. In this role within the Global Markets Technology team, you will manage day-to-day support for mission-critical applications used by FX, rates, commodities, and eCommerce activities, ensuring the production environment stays stable, incidents are handled effectively, and stakeholders can rely on accurate, timely system behavior. You’ll partner closely with traders, local teams, and global technology counterparts to coordinate changes, resolve issues, improve operational workflows, and continuously strengthen system reliability and “fit for purpose” architecture.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure a stable, high-performing production landscape with strong controls for operational risk
• Provide technical assistance for trading systems, supporting dependable real-time lifecycle operations for position-related processes
• Detect, triage, and manage production problems/incidents; lead troubleshooting; coordinate with traders and technology teams to reduce impact
• Lead structured problem management: determine likely causes, introduce prevention measures, and drive ongoing platform enhancements
• Support training for end users and develop documentation describing capabilities, workflows, and tooling
• Follow all relevant organizational standards, guidelines, and operating procedures
• Build strong partnerships with delivery and engineering teams to enable early involvement, challenge where needed, and support smooth delivery of enhancements
• Maintain relationships with risk and control groups to ensure risks are clearly understood, recorded, and mitigated with actionable remediation plans
• Coordinate daily with teams in other business areas to ensure collaboration, alignment on priorities, transparency on workload, and adoption of best practices
• Work closely with Infrastructure support teams to sustain availability and resilience of production services
• Join the support roster (including on-call coverage, shift responsibilities, and weekend/weeknight monitoring as required)
• Participate in knowledge management for your application suite: ensure architecture visuals and written records, data-flow and integration documentation, release/deployment runbooks, administration materials, disaster recovery artifacts, and user/training guides are stored centrally and reviewed regularly
Requirements
• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Approximately 5 years of experience supporting Murex in banking and/or financial services environments
• Experience working with international cross-functional groups and building strong collaboration
• Proven capability managing critical incidents/errors and extracting root causes from complex process and data signals
• Background working in a multi-vendor or outsourced technology ecosystem
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Mandarin proficiency is a plus, not a must
Technical Background
• Solid understanding of software and operational lifecycle concepts (e.g., SDLC, technology operations, business continuity, etc.)
• Familiarity with Front Office and Operations business context
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, UNIX/Linux, and scripting (e.g., Python, Shell)
• Awareness of standard enterprise processes including prioritization and operational best practices
• Knowledge of domestic and international banking operations
• Ability to solve problems quickly and communicate effectively in a time-sensitive trading setting
• Experience/awareness of AI-enabled operational support tools is an advantage
