Role Overview
We are seeking a Rust Software Engineer (Core & Platform) to join the team and play a key role in building and scaling the core infrastructure that powers their HFT operations. This role is ideal for engineers from traditional finance (equities, futures, options) who want to import the discipline of mature exchange/broker-dealer architectures—risk engines, credit and collateral controls, reliability and latency engineering—into a new platform, rather than approaching it as a typical “crypto tech” project. You will work closely with traders, quants, and fellow engineers to design and implement high-performance systems that execute seamlessly across on-chain and traditional financial markets. Open to candidates with strong C++ or Java backgrounds who are willing to learn Rust on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Development: Design and develop low-latency, high-throughput trading systems to support algorithmic trading strategies.
- Exchange Connectivity: Build and maintain robust connectivity with exchanges and protocols, ensuring reliable transaction processing and seamless market access.
- Core Components: Develop core system components for trade execution, order management, and real-time market data.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize system performance through profiling, tuning, and architectural improvements for ultra-fast execution.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with quantitative traders to translate trading ideas into scalable, production-grade systems.
- Architecture Design: Contribute to flexible system architectures to support growing trading volumes and evolving opportunities.
- Operational Stability: Ensure operational stability and uptime in a latency-sensitive trading environment.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Background: Strong understanding of traditional finance, architecture, and trading systems.
- Experience: 5+ years building and maintaining low-latency systems for algorithmic trading.
- Language: Proficiency in low-level programming using Rust or C++ (open to strong C++/Java candidates willing to learn Rust).
- Integration: Experience integrating with exchange/broker APIs, order management systems, pricing and risk engines, and smart order routers.
- Performance: Skilled in system-level performance tuning, monitoring, and debugging.
- Mindset: Self-starter with strong problem-solving ability and comfort operating in rapidly evolving environments.
- Collaboration: Ability to work in a non-siloed engineering team with a focus on cross-team delivery and success.
